SteadyRain Helps Kiamichi Technology Provide Training for the Future

SteadyRain, a St. Louis based Internet strategy, development and online marketing agency, has launched a new website and custom student application collection and work flow system for Kiamichi Technology Centers (KTC). Kiamichi Technology Centers is an educational institution that provides high school students, adults and local businesses with specialized career training across southeastern Oklahoma.  The digital solution includes a refreshed internet strategy, design of a new website, a content migration into the DotNetNuke content management system, the migration of their faculty and staff intranet into this same framework, and the development of several custom modules for ease of data management for class, event and faculty information management throughout the new site.

Kiamichi Technology Centers are part of Oklahoma’s network of 29 technology centers on 57 campuses that provide a wide-range of students with specialized career training across more than 90 instructional areas. With programs available for almost all ages, Kiamichi Technology Centers offer the ideal fit for advancing education and obtaining the important job skills that allow students to excel in today’s competitive economic landscape.

The objectives SteadyRain sought to meet for the Kiamichi Technology website redesign and development included:  creating a professional and functional website that would further establish Kiamichi Technology as the recognized leader in specialized career based education for high school students as well as adults.  This also included information around educational services that KTC provides to the local business and agricultural community.   In addition, SteadyRain developed modules to collect and manage student applications and business service leads to save valuable time staff is currently using to transcribe this information from web to app, internally.   This allows KTC to focus on what they do best, educating future leaders.

“It has been a great pleasure to provide the strategic marketing insight and feature opportunities to what even the IT staff at KTC felt wasn’t possible from their website solution,” said Thompson Knox, executive vice president at SteadyRain.  “We worked with the team there to put a long-term strategy together that has just begun to show its true value.  In fact, days after the site launched student applications started flowing through the site . . . definitely swift success for our strategy.”

As part of increasing their website functionality, Kiamichi Technology Centers requested the design and development of a number of custom DotNetNuke modules for their site, http://www.ktc.edu.  Some of these modules include a Campus Locator, a robust Events Calendar that provides per campus and system-wide event views, a database that managed and displays all of their Long-Term Classes as well as their Short-Term Training Programs and Schedules, and a robust online Student Application System that allows students to apply online to any programs (short-term training or long-term class) that KTC offers across all of their campuses.

“We were looking for a company to establish a professional web presence and replace our tired, outdated site and we could tell in just a few meetings how with SteadyRain having a complete solution to marketing along with web developing brought the kind of focus we wanted in our site,” said Larry Cravens, information technology coordinator at Kiamichi Technology Centers.  “They easily were in tune with how our business model worked and were able to provide us a functional and visually pleasing site of which we are very proud.  Moreover, it has made a noticeable impact on our target audiences in the short time we have had the site deployed.  We look forward to continuing our partnership with SteadyRain as we move ahead with our online strategy.”
